Baseball Victoria is excited to continue SWC traditions, with the Under 14 State Winter Championships & All-Girls Winter Invitational returning to Bendigo for another year.
The tournament action runs from 29-30 June at Albert Roy Reserve, home of Bendigo Baseball Association, Falcons and Scots Baseball Clubs, and Club Court Reserve, home of Strathfieldsaye Baseball Club. Maiden Gully Rec Reserve will also host games.
Teams from Bendigo, Dandenong, Geelong, Latrobe Valley, North Eastern, and MWBL (City West, Diamond Valley, Ringwood) will take part in the junior baseball fun.
“We look forward to an exciting competition and can’t wait to bring some of the best junior baseball to Bendigo,” BV Tournament Officer Tony McPherson said. “We wish all players the best of luck and hope everyone has a great time.”
The Under 14 age group is full of enthusiastic players eager to continue developing their skills, while the All-Girls Winter Invitational was a big hit last year and will follow up on that success by welcoming more female baseballers aged 12-16.
With the growth of winter baseball and strong interest in this age group, the U14 SWC now has two venues: Albert Roy Reserve for Division 1 games and Maiden Gully Rec Reserve for Division 2.
“Bendigo Baseball Association is thrilled to be part of this long-standing winter baseball tradition and we cannot wait to welcome Under 14 and All-Girls teams to our great venues for a memorable weekend,” President Luke Martin said. “Thank you to Baseball Victoria and the City of Greater Bendigo for the opportunity and ongoing support, as well as all the club volunteers who make hosting these events possible.”
