Baseball Victoria are pleased to announce the election of the Victorian Summer Baseball League Pennant Committee (VSBLPC).

After an initial request for nominations last month, VSBL Presidents or their appointed nominee participated in an online vote to determine the remaining three positions on the VSBLPC.

After final votes were tallied on Wednesday, the successful nominees who will join current VSBL members; Michael Gourlay (Chair), Stewart Howe (BV Umpires Coordinator), Kelsey Quinn (BV Competitions Coordinator) will be:

• John King
• Jake Cole-Sinclair
• Dwain Richardson

The VSBLPC will work alongside Baseball Victoria’s Competitions Coordinator, Kelsey Quinn, to ensure that the Victorian Summer Baseball League will be delivered with the professionalism and consistency that our community expects.

BV’s CEO – Justin Huber was excited by the announcement.

“I am really impressed with the response from our VSBL community. The candidates for the three available positions were all first class and I would have been thrilled to have every one of them on this committee. To me this is yet another example of how fortunate our sport is in Victoria.

The addition of the VSBLPC will be a major uplift to the summer competition and I am looking forward to being well prepared and engaged with our members leading into the season.”

The Board of Directors are also enthusiastic about the re-introduction of the VSBLPC.

President of the Board, Myles Foreman said, “Utilizing the experience and the expertise of our Baseball Community will undeniably improve the running of the Victorian Summer Baseball League and I am very much looking forward to the contributions John, Jake and Dwain will make to our competition”.

The VSBLPC will meet later this week to discuss the agenda ahead of the first Presidents and Secretaries Meeting for the season on June 18th at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
